Studying Environmental Science and GIS at the University of Mary Washington | Peer Mentor Coordinator | Department Student Aide | Campus Programming Board President | Track Team Captain

I am an undergraduate Environmental Science major at the University of Mary Washington (UMW). I am also working towards a certificate in Geographic Information Systems. My undergraduate journey includes research in soil chemistry with presentations at conferences such as the ASA, CSA, and SSSA International Annual Meeting, as well as the GSA Northeastern Section Meeting. Out of the classroom, I have gain leadership experience as Campus Programming Board President and in New Student Programs. Both of these organizations involve event planning for the UMW student body and have taught me to work efficiently and under pressure.

I am passionate about the accessibility of the world of science. In my work, I want the general public to understand its importance and be able to have a conversation about the impact. It is imperative in my field that we tell a story that engages different populations to encourage an active interest in environmental issues. After graduation, I plan to further my education and career in understanding climate change and its impacts, especially on marine ecosystems such as coral reefs.
