Independent Study Research
For a year and a half I have been working in a small independent study group under our advisor, Dr. Szulczewski. We have been analyzing heavy metals in soils from the Kingston, Jamaica region to fill in the gap in research in this area. During this time we have learned many lab skills, including an ICP analysis. One of my specific contributions to the project was a map of our soil sample locations to show the urbanization around the sites. After the Fall 2023 semester we will work on a paper to finish our research as we begin future research endeavors in the lab.
